We are divided between people who know – deeply, personally – the accomplishments and failures of social service systems designed to protect society’s most vulnerable and people who could not, on their own, fathom the challenges and horrors of these systems. People who have survived homelessness, foster parenting, and child welfare investigations, or are providers of direct services to children and families, too often keep the stories to self. These are critical voices that are not heard because there is no place to speak.
This is a place where stories are solicited and ideas for change can be published. This space is dedicated to the diverse crew of “community warriors” with whom I have had the pleasure of collaborating, strategizing, meeting, and supervising during my service in NYC.
Articles and topics are being actively solicited.
